STRATEGY FOR RESPONDING TO THE
EARTHQUAKE OF 2021 IN HAITI

Brooklyn, New York: The Haitian Medical Association Abroad (AMHE) is heartbroken at the news of the Earthquake that hit Haiti, today, August 14, 2021. We are following the news with sustained interest. AMHE will act in keeping with its mission and tradition of delivering relief to Haiti in the form of well-calibrated missions coordinated among AMHE physicians and other members of the Association in partnership with other organizations working on the ground.

As a full assessment is still underway, AMHE is connecting with its in-country partners, Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) and the Civil Protection, in order that we are ready to step in at the appropriate time.

AMHE is proposing three immediate courses of action:

1) Raise funds for the affected communities Donations may be directed to: AMHE website : DONATE HERE

Check mailed to: AMHE – Florida Inc

2) Donation Drive of Non-Perishable Goods

3) Rally AMHE volunteer physicians and other health professionals The health of our fellow Haitians is front and center on our AMHE agenda in times of crisis as it is in normal times. AMHE renews its unwavering commitment to the Haitian communities in Haiti and the Haitian diaspora. We seek to collaborate with others on our mission.

The Haitian Medical Association Abroad (AMHE), a professional Haitian-American organization created in New York in 1972, continuously pursues activities aiming at improving the life, health, and welfare of all its members and the Haitian communities at large both in Haiti and abroad.
