2023 AMHE Honorees

Dr. Marie Denise Gervais is an Assistant Professor of clinical Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine.

She received her medical degree from the State University of Haiti in 1991 then pursued Public Health training at Bichat School of Medicine in Paris, France.

After a residency in Family Medicine at UM/Jackson Memorial Hospital, which she culminated as Chief Resident; she completed an Academic Fellowship in Faculty Development at the University of North Carolina/ Chapel Hill.

Rimsky Denis is a structural and interventional cardiologist in Miami, Florida.  Prior to completing his structural, interventional, and cardiovascular disease fellowships at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, he completed his internal medicine residency at Brown University in Rhode Island.  Rimsky is a graduate of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and holds a masters degree in public health with a concentration in disease prevention, and a masters degree in business administration with a focus on health sector management and policy.  His research interest pertains to the assessment of health inequities within cardiovascular disease and structural cardiology.  Rimsky is a native of Miami, Florida where he currently resides.
